I’m averaging $1.50 discount at TAs and some independents using a carrier card that they pay my invoices to. As fuel prices go down the discount is falling also. The discount seems to keep it around $3.50 no matter what stateSiinman and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this.

Sounds like you did much better. If in a full month you can do over $25,000 then you’ll definitely be making money. It probably takes $20,000 to survive if you’re actually paying yourself and counting all expenses.
I understand why some members are jaded about negotiating with brokers but if you truly do enjoy it then that alone will end up making you the most money. That’s the secret sauce to survival and thriving on the spot market in good times and especially bad.
Keep it up! Who knows you may break $30,000 at some point. Set yourself goals.Keepforgettingmypassword, ducnut and Siinman Thank this. -
I actually did $27,965 in 25 days. After the 1st I’m going out for 5 weeks with the goal of $40k. And I enjoy the winter weather so it doesn’t bother me to work outside in it. That alone is helping my rates because everyone went south. Seems like the I-10 corridor is flooded with flatbeds.Midwest Trucker, Siinman and ducnut Thank this.

Excellent. You are figuring it out sounds to me like. Trucking and the people in trucking are so vast and different. If you want to really bust ### all year long, the possibilities are endless.Siinman Thanks this.

Man, enjoy it until you don’t. One day it will be work but until then have a good time.
Some of y’all ain’t done some of the real nasty work I guess. I worked for roto-rooter once… snake 7 tampons out of the drain of a drug house full of heroin looking 20 something females in Albuquerque at 11pm in gang central while watching your back in the dark and hoping you don’t get shot while trying to avoid hepatitis and hope you don’t drag some syringes with needles out with them.Keepforgettingmypassword, lynchy, rollin coal and 3 others Thank this. -
When I hear job complaining I always say, "Look at the bright side.. you aren't the guy that changes the urinal cakes at the stadium."
Yours beats that by a mile. LOLKeepforgettingmypassword, rollin coal, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.
