I've had my eye on this company for a while now. I am going to wait a year since I am such a fresh rookie. I'm not quite ready (financially) to be losing so many miles during harsh winters (which is almost every year in Nebraska) just quite yet.
I want to get my one-year OTR experience in first before I try and transit into this company since I have family in Fremont, NE. So for me it's a huge interest. I don't care much for the home daily, but I certainly like the home weekly routes.
The issue is that I don't live in Fremont, NE anymore. I live in another state, therefore I am confused how I am going to go about this.
After my first year of OTR I'd love to join FCC but I am not sure how that is going to work out since I'd like to be home once-a-month but I am not from Nebraska. I don't have kids, not married, so I am completely open to all options.

@Metsuri They have a longhaul OTR fleet, and two regional fleets, SE and Mid West. On the regional fleets you can be home weekly depending on where you live. On the Longhaul fleet depending where you live, will depend on how often you get home. Some guys stay out months at a time (by choice), and other get home every couple of weeks.

Picked up in Aurora, Nebraska Monday and dropped this morning in Columbia, Sc.
Currently sitting at the house enjoying a cup of coffee. I told dispatch I would come out of the house Monday if they could find something, if not I will enjoy a few extra days at the house.

Come on over… when you get some time under your belt. As Runningman said it’s not a problem at all. Most of us don’t live in the Fremont area either. And with family in the area you will be in the area to grab dinner with them occasionally too without requesting home time.
I’d suggest calling Mike at FCC and talk about how much experience you will need before coming over.

Just hooked to a Kawasaki load in Lincoln last night heading to TN before my clocks ran out. I’ll head to Fremont for Shop Visit and new Tablet this morning and then head to Illinois this afternoon for Christmas with Mom and Sister.
I only requested 2 days off for Christmas but will be there a day early and a light 400 mile drive on Monday as the receiver doesn’t open until Tuesday.runningman0661 Thanks this. -
