So you are right and everyone else is wrong????

JFC the criticisms aren’t pulled out of someone's rear.

Do you ever (in your extensive research) Google the opposite of what you preach to find out there is another side to things? No, because if you did you wouldn’t go on your long “hey look how educated I am” posts.
Either that or you choose to ignore it.

You do the same thing when discussing social issues.

So weight and range aren’t valid? I mean a 27,000 pound tractor that can only do a max of 500 miles a day isn’t a problem?

You nailed it on the head there for me. I’m not really against it at all. I have researched many of the EV consumer vehicles out there and see them moving in the right direction. What I don’t see however is some neutrality in all the BS.

It feels exactly like they are forcing them at us all. This is why my comparison to the big cities and to rural America. People in these large cities rely so much on public transportation and wonder why don’t you yahoos in Texas use it more… they don’t understand rural America and see how spread out this place is in comparison. You could easily get away with a car with a minuscule range in Manhattan. Hell let’s say a plumber in Manhattan had the ford fan EV with a 170 mile range. Dude might be alright with it. Try that in DFW metroplex for an on call plumber. Especially one that really travels the metroplex or takes calls on the outskirts. It is absurd. It would be, it would be a daily fear of dying in the middle of the day.

That's so true as well. Not all cities are created equally. My hometown of Phoenix is very similar to your example of DFW. My brother does it everyday running his business servicing swimming pools. He does about 1500+ miles a week and never leaves the city of Phoenix and surrounding valleys. Don't think he will be jumping on that 170 mile range work truck anytime soon.

Well crud. I was going to call my brother in law to see what those numbers are. He owns a plumbing company in the dfw area, so was hoping for real world numbers, but he doesn't track mileage on his trucks. :(

That said, unless it's a company buried in someplace like northeast Tarrant county that has nothing but suburbs around and never leaves the area it might work... I kinda doubt it and if I owned the company I wouldn't chance it.

First off, where are you getting a 27,000 pound cargo limit?

Secondly, 500 miles is more than our day cabs can do between fuelings and very few operations are hot seating their trucks. So for what the truck is designed to do, it can do.

I do research and read opposing view points. Yet when I post what I am basing my opinions off of, people tend to ignore the data or move the goal posts without posting contrary data and research.

Just because the 'greenies' aren't getting anywhere doesn't mean they aren't trying. You said no one was making an issue out of deforestation, which is wrong. They are but aren't getting anything accomplished.

I didn’t say a 27,000 pound cargo limit. Are your companies trucks using a single 50 gallon tank? So you admit they aren’t ready to replace the otr truck?

And there are still plenty of operations that slip seat trucks.
