Anyone running the Continental 295 60 22.5 ecoplus hse+ on the steers? If so do they wear as well as the ecoplus hse? I noticed the hse+ have a 19 tread depth versus 15 on the hse.
I've ran the hse for years and been pleased with them but if the hse+ is the same price, is the extra tread depth going to pay off or will they wear kind of wonky like Bridgestone or Michelin steers do when the tread wears down ?

Is this the one you are asking about or is this the one you are already using?

That's the one I've run for a the last 8 or so years with very good results. Tire dealer says they have an HSE+ that features deeper tread. I'm hesitant to switch because I get great wear and mileage from the HSE.
What are you paying through your carrier for a set if you don't mind revealing? I'm looking at 750 a piece including Fet plus 45 a tire for installation.Banker Thanks this. -
I would have to look to be sure but probably around $450-$500 plus installation. I have very good results with these tires also. I don’t run them on any positions but the steers but eventually may run them on my trailer when I pull them off the steers. USAL ran the same size tire in all 18 positions and had very good wear on my friends rigs. I pull them off about 80,000 miles now and they have a whole lot of life left on the trailer.

We had a couple 07 trucks that had 295s all the way around. Drive wear was phenomenal, finding anything but steers in that size was impossible. IIRC, they were getting almost double the mileage out of them.

I would stay away from that tire. My 23 Pete high rail, came with these tires from the factory, and they lasted roughly 100k. Thinking, this is really good, I decided to get same set. 27k later, my passenger steer did this. Purchased another set, same Continentals, because they were the only tires available where I was in WY. 17k later, same passenger tire, that I got in WY did exactly same thing, damaging my hood.Only Michelins now. They were HS3

That is why I quit using Michelin on my steers. Blow out at 65MPH empty with the Michelin. I am 5 sets in now on the Continental’s and they are working great for me.Tall Mike, Siinman, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this.

I think you might have something else going on besides the tires. I'd have everything checked out very thoroughly. I've never seen one Continental steer blowout and you have 3 in that few miles. I'm not saying it couldn't be the tires but what are the odds.

Not for IATA members. We are paying around $500 each.Tall Mike Thanks this.

not the tires fault. You need to get alignment done on new stingers. Don’t trust the factory alignment
