A lot less stress for you. Not a bad gig at all. All containers can't pay nothing, I see quite a few nice trucks running up and down 81 daily. Sometimes I get held up by the line of trucks at 6am waiting on global to open
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

That truck was not the right truck anyways. Get you a nice spec'd fuel truck that can get 8-10 MPG's with a nice new warranty. Not much risk if you have your contacts that would put you on some good freight.Rideandrepair, Dave_in_AZ, JoeyJunk and 3 others Thank this.

There’s always risk owning any truck , even new trucks break and the warranty doesn’t cover your bills if it’s laid up at a dealer for weeks or months . The truth is , as I get older my tolerance for risk gets less and my time with my family becomes more valuable. I’ve been an owner operator and it was more that cool old school w9 with the big CAT under the hood calling me than the desire to be an owner operator again. Everybody has their own path, me I’ve diversified my income with investments over the years and look forward to being able to not drive anymore, even though I like the situation I have now.Big Road Skateboard, Speedy356, D.Tibbitt and 6 others Thank this.

Yeah , I like it . There’s niche work that pays well in all trucking . I was surprised at how much it paid and was reluctant to have to get my TWIC and sealink card , but it didn’t take long and it has been worth it. The port is funny , they’re are some junk trucks there , and they make very little money doing multiple short local runs in and out of the port all day. That’s why they drive like maniacs that just robbed a bank and they’re being chased . lol. That’s how they survive. There’s a lot of middlemen with their hands in the rate who know many of those immigrant drivers will work for little money to stay local. Our work is direct with the shipper and the owner has had a relationship with them for over 20 years and offered him as much work in they’re export division as he wants. He has reefers , flatbeds and dryvans too , but pretty much most of our trucks are pulling containers
with new company chassis.Rideandrepair, Dave_in_AZ, JoeyJunk and 5 others Thank this. -
Everyone must be busy making money. No one is complaining. LOL. Flatbed has been pretty busy the past couple of weeks. Been getting lots of emails and several calls from loads I "clicked" on but didn't call the broker, they call me... I guess that's a good thing, although lots of them still don't wanna pay any money with those calls...

It was just a leftover from holidays, usually everything dies the 4th week of January

I agree, would be nice if it were the beginning of an upward trend. This week, I’m already seeing a drop along with .10 cent higher fuel. Overall it’s a living, about the same below par average I’m used to running the Load Boards, nothing to get excited about.JoeyJunk, Siinman, JonJon78 and 1 other person Thank this.

Seems fuel is headed back towards the moon!!!

We just finished our 2022 P&L and sent to the CPA. Worst year, not even close in 6 years.
( *** Disclaimer *** ) We did only work ( actually driving ) maybe 7 months. Maybe like you know 6-1/2 months, someting like dat. But not the cat's fault. -
