I keep getting LOTS of emails from JRG Agency. Never hauled a Landstar load. Anyone know anything about them?

Do you keep a seperate cell phone just for work or try and juggle all of your calls on one phone?

I dont answer broker calls that I dont work with on a regular basis. Sometimes they leave a voicemail and 99% of the time its a load going to the middle of nowhere for hardly enough to pay the fuel and no prayer of finding a load out. I dont do a lot of loads off the board. Most of what I do is dedicated.

I have responded to a few of the texts. Maybe 5 in 5 years. 1 of those was $1,000 to go 9 miles. And the odd part was I was going to have lunch with my brother that day and this load literally took me 5 blocks out of my way to have lunch with him. Was a 100kg box from the airfreight terminal at MSP (1 block off the freeway) going to the other side of Bloomington 3 blocks from where we were having lunch. Medical test kits from England.

But in all fairness, that broker I had worked with in the past. Right place at the right time. They needed them toot sweet and I happened to be unloading right across the river from the airport at the time.

Another one was from "the Mother Ship". Jville texted (because I didnt answer the phonecall lol) asking if I could take a guys load to Seattle, he broke down in So St Paul. I dont go west and I have a regular run I do every wed so I said no. They came back and said they would pay me 1500 to take it back to the shipper in Black River Falls, Wi and figured sure. 4 hour round trip, why not? They called back again and said the shipper wouldnt take it back, but they would still give me 1500 to take it to a warehouse in Eden Prairie (about 20 miles - 50 miles total from the house to the house).

But to answer the question, no I only have 1 phone.
