Went through Tucumcari yesterday on 54 for my first time versus taking the bypass ( past the Loves and Flying J ) and came across this old truckstop... Was shocked they actually have it listed on Google maps.

According to a review, someone says it closed around 2002. How was this place back in the day? Any good? Lots of pictures if you click the link for maps below.

I love the old buildings in Nara Visa, NM, too. Remnants of a better time.

I used to stop there all the time .. I always fueled there it was a decent truck stop .. I can't tell ya much more than that cause I was always loaded and needed to stay after it .. but fuel there was always about .10 a gallon cheaper

Easy to find spot to park late night. Nara Vista was better, in my opinion

That was back in the old 10/8 rules days and back then finding parking after dark was easier.
    Even at big chain stops

Every time I go through Nara Vista, I try to figure out if anyone is still actually living there. I see some newer-looking cars still parked there so I can't be sure.

Maybe after the port hours got cut back so far, no one had an excuse to hide out in there?
