To clarify, I am at 2.09/M before deducting fuel which is costing me about 60 cents/mile so I can claim $1.50/mile to the truck after fuel. Last year I had higher than average maintenance costs for 2 items that set me back but both were purposely done to save money in the long run. I spent 10K to install an aux battery A/C unit so I would not have to idle my truck at night and I had the emission system repaired so I would not have to spend money needlessly on those type of repairs and fluids. This allows me to run my truck on a lean budget and maximize profits. I don’t park my truck when things look bad, There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Rates for os/ow have been slowly dropping for some time now, but last week was nuts. 75k loads posted for under $5 and 5&6 axle for $2.5-$4.
Theres so many condo sleeper Cascadias running around with 2-3 axle double drops now it’s retarded. Only way I can still make decent money is on 7/8 axle loads.

I get it but you’re not setting the world on fire. You also have to replace your equipment and pay yourself. Things always look good until they don’t. You should be able to pay cash for your next truck if things are actually going well. I’m not coming at you btw, just saying you’re treading water from my experience.

100% correct. Well written and the truth!!! Scams from the get go, people were saved and came into this business like a wildfire as well, with those loans.

    Rideandrepair and Oxbow Thank this.
