I dont see nothing wrong with determining where their trucks fill up and route they go... They pay the bills on their equipment... I think if I driver wants to call their own shots, they should start their own company... Most truck drivers just seem to be big babies over stupid stuff..
Please Define "Micromanage" in trucking.

If they know the best routes and the best stops then maybe they should do the driving too. Most drivers prefer the autonomy we're afforded as professionals in most companies. The boss man isn't the one stopping at the overcrowded Love's or Pilot and waiting 45 minutes to get to a pump. They're not the ones making money by the mile driving slower or round about on some road.

Im not disagreeing that alot of the stuff is annoying and less than efficient... But when you work for a company no matter what industry you work in.. Employees dont call the shots and make decisions. You do what the boss man tells you to do or you go find another line of work.. So why should it be different in trucking... If a feller wants to call the shots and make decisions, then put some skin in the game and start your own company.. Then you get to live and die by every deicison you make.. Just my opinion.. Thats why i dont work for anybody but myself because i dont like being told what to do.truckerman75103, gokiddogo and Moosetek13 Thank this.

No one is stopping you from finding employment elsewhere.

Trucking is kind of in a league of its own though. Not too many industries where you still live and work on the company equipment with every bit of responsibility on your shoulders.
Which is what I would do if I were in such a job but I'm not.D.Tibbitt, Hammer166, Cat sdp and 1 other person Thank this. -
Then you have nothing of importance to say here.
Your opinions are meaningless. -
Why is your opinion more valuable then his?TripleSix, rockeee, truckerman75103 and 3 others Thank this.

Judging from the responses, I would say it's probably extremely difficult to find any companies that DO NOT micromanage nowadays.
-
Speed limiters, cameras, eld’s, government, laws, social security, insurance companies, rules, etc… are all good examples of micromanaging.

Guy probably needs micro managing
