This morning at 4:30 am while fueling a guy came up to me and asked me if I knew how to open the def cap. Lol walked over to his truck twisted it and it came off.

That's rich. I thought it was bad several years ago when I had to show some young eastern European driver how to pump DEF. He didn't know how. He knew how to remove the cap, though.

As far as the container hauler not having lights on the trailer I can see that happening. They may have been working when he hooked it up and then went out. Those containers get the crap beat out of them in rail yards and ship yards. Some that come into where I work blink on and off when hooked up no matter how tight you think you got it. Not an excuse just a possibility.

I believe it, the chassis are usually pretty beat up. But it's still dangerous at night, and that's when I drive these days.

I had problems getting the DEF cap back on when it was really cold, I think something froze in the cap and it didn't go on without a lot of force. And swearing, lots of swearing.

The guy that asked me to park his new Volvo still tops my list of bonehead moves, I hope he's figured out how to do that by now or found another career.

The guy wasn’t Eastern European and English wasn’t his first language. It was pretty cold just went over there popped it off, finished fueling and hopped in truck.
Didn’t think about it until @Still undecided made a post.

I picked up in Pittsburgh last week. Stopped in one of the OTP service plazas to grab a quick bite. It was snowing lightly but nothing accumulating on the roads or the parking lot. I get out of the truck and the driver parked next to me, in a foreign accent (sounded Somalian from what I remember a coworker's accent from years ago sounding) pointing to the snow falling and asking me "Are you going to continue? Are you going to continue?" It was all I could do not to laugh.

Lol, takes me back to last year when I was training a guy from Jamaica. We were driving on the West Virginia turnpike when he saw snow for the first time.

At least that's a pretty place to see snow, even if it's not very fun for driving.

The place I was at where the guy wanted me to park his new Volvo (Weaver popcorn in Indiana, they make Skinnypop popcorn there and it smells wonderful) had done an exemplary job of cleaning the snow off the parking lot then, and they're next to a vacant lot with some scrub trees in it. Volvo dude kept saying he couldn't back in due to the snow, and I couldn't figure out how he would be backing in where the snow would be the problem. I got him most of the way backed in before I needed to finish my delivery and about 5 minutes later I heard this really loud boom. I don't know if he hit the dock really hard or slid the tandems at warp speed but it sounded like he'd damaged something. I really wanted to help the guy but he asked at the wrong time and I hope someone out there did.

If I lived near Trenton I would be all over the spotter job at Molson. $26 an hr to start plus OT after 40. They really need to increase the OTR pay.
