to all end dump haulers...

Dumb question, how do u guys get up inside of the end dump to move the bows? Is there a ladder on the front or back?

Not a dumb question at all. I have a door in the front to get in, and a ladder on the side that folds down. I also have steps on the back on both sides and steps inside to get out. But usually heavy scrap makes the inside steps short lived. With most loads I can get in and out of the front door without having to climb up the side, the piston doghouse usually provides a nice pocket where material doesn’t land.

 

I never have had a trailer with a man door on the front. Always had steps on outside an inside.

 

@motocross25 I can see by your bungee chord attached to the gladhand, you've been dealt with the old "droopy" king pin plate as well. I've had many trailers with that same issue, thankfully my current wagon doesn't suffer from that issue, it's crazy how different it is doing a simple thing like hooking up a trailer when it comes to these frameless, no wonder I've been called crazy for doing what we do, but I don't think I'd be happy doing anything else. I've spoke to many drivers who claim there isn't enough money out there to ever do frameless work

 

Heres how my started off, taking ddg down to the ranch, I’m not sure if a controlled burn got out of hand, or if this was a muck fire. Either way, I dealt with this for a few miles, I came to a complete stop and waited for someone to come by so I could at least follow tail lights, it was pretty much impossible. Fog and fires down here are no joke, combine the 2 and this happens. I literally didn’t even know if I was on the road, keep in mind this is ranch property and not a state Highway, but still super sketchy, there’s ditches on either side and trucks trying to exit the ranch as well.

 

Yea that does not look like a good time. I’m holed up for the night, deliver Ragland AL tomorrow and then reload in Rockmart GA going up to Wichita.

 

Loading shale in Rockmart? Be careful in that town, it’s small but has a pretty decent truck route laid out, ok operators but a pretty small operation overall, I’d shoot for 23 tons and be happy if they get that right. Good luck, pretty neat place, creepy little town though if you ever consider spending the night there

 

Yep! Shale it was! Jumbo to be exact. And you’re right I asked for 23 ton and got on the scale 76,620. So went back, my gauges look a little heavy in the front but I’m sure it’ll be alright. You’re right tho that’s a tiny little town. My gps wanted to send me down Marble Street thru downtown, that didn’t look like a good idea at all. 3 of us came down to Ragland, I went there, another driver went to Tate GA and the other guy went to Noonan GA. I’m back to the same truck stop I was last night in Mississippi and in the exact same spot! How’s things going down south for you? Still smokey?

 

That's some crazy driving conditions. I'm up in Iowa an it's snowing up here. They're expecting 6 to 10 inches. Yeah winter! Sarcasm

 

Yea i saw that. Im having to detour around STL to avoid running face first into that nonsense.

Started my day in chicago heading towards KC. Going this way adds more miles but yea no. Least i missed the worst of it. I almost ended up held up in sioux falls yesterday lol.



Hard pass. Though it was funny to suprise the loader that a plastic truck knew how to rock out of slush ice and snow.
