That's the Rita Ranch area. Not much in the way of town, per se. It's southeast of Davis-Monthan AFB. The U of A tech park is out there along with the Pilot truck stop and what is left of the once famous Triple T truck stop.
Target and Faribault Foods have distribution centers in that area along with an Amazon center. Went there once. A lot of open land. Not much will be affected.Sirscrapntruckalot, The Railsplitter, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
That hurts my heart to read that.
I'm glad this wasn't in a heavily populated area, especially knowing that nitric acid is such bad stuff.Sirscrapntruckalot, D.Tibbitt, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
The triple T is still there, if you go there on the weekend it’s jampacked with locals.
Better get there early if you want to seat.RockinChair and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I got the emergency alert yesterday when working on the rig. was wondering if it was a truck crash. Think I was ok being hour and a half away
The Railsplitter Thanks this. -
Update: The driver didn’t make it!
I-10 remains closed following hazmat crash that killed truck driver in TucsonD.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Does anyone familiar with the Tucson area know if Sahuarita Rd between I-19 and AZ-83 is a truck route? It looks like that might be the only way around it.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Yes it is a good road to drive on. If coming from the east you can also detour up us191N from i10 near Wilcox. Take that to safford and us70 w to globe and us60 west takes u right into downtown phx and back to i10.. I would avoid Tucson at all costs. With the amount of traffic that must be backed up there.JC1971 Thanks this.

Were you a patron of the Triple T?
I remember before I began trucking they had portable steps on the fuel islands to aid drivers in cleaning windshields.
Think those were at every truck stop, but they went the way of the dodo bird.D.Tibbitt and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
Happened to be a Landstar truck
Flat Earth Trucker, D.Tibbitt and mjd4277 Thank this.
