I am looking for recommendations for a good reputable CB shop to work on my equipment. I am also looking into a new large frame radio. Anyone have any recommendatons Stryker 655/955 vs Galaxy 98VHP. Or Others

What type of work needs to be done? If any tuning is involved, performance will always be worse after the work is done. Negating any value in money spent.

Thank you for the reply. I have definatly spent some time on Bells CB web site. Good to hear they are well liked. So the 955 seems to be a better choice. I will check out CB World. I have never heard of them.

Virtually anybody can solder a couple wires.
I wouldn't be too selective about who replaces a meter light. I would just go to the most convenient location for something like that.

Thanks for your responses. After reading some of your comments in some of the other posts, i feel you may not be a fan of the 955. What is your recommendation of radios. I am running a Galaxy 98VHP now, only because I like the side mic port, and the nice selection of controls (dimmer) etc. I just don't feel I ever get compliments on this radio like i used to on my Mirage 9900.

It's hard for me to recommend any export radio with a factory alignment due to the mismatched mosfet finals. Any single final radio should perform quite well, but that pretty much narrows it down to an HR2510 or a type-accepted cb radio. Any ham radio with Mars mod would be a decent option.

    RockinChair Thanks this.
