I don't think you can go too far wrong with either one

working dayshift and the traffic that goes with it
getting out of truck and actually having to take hands out of pockets
getting up in the morning for a early start
dealing with human beings on job sites
I could go on but anyone can become conditioned to these CONS and do quite well,

Starting pay may vary based on your driving experience, they started me at 29.40. Overtime kicks in after 8hrs at time and a half and Saturday pays time and a half and i think you're guaranteed 4 hrs if you come in on a Saturday .

There's a lot of work based on what we've been told--Innocon is one of the busiest companies.

Also, if you only work a couple days because things are slow, they will cover the rest of the week at slightly above what EI would give you per week as long as you make yourself available up to 1000am--if they don't call you back with a schedule for the day that time is yours.

After your probation your wage goes up to whatever the union wage is--I think that's around 33.90.

They also have a pension plan but I'm not familiar with the details. I go out with my trainer on Monday for a couple days, then back in the classroom for a couple, then back in the truck with the trainer again. I can get more info as time goes on.

You also get your own truck, there's no slip seating and the trucks are manual with few autos.

They got me at a plant just 5 miles from home and I'll be working in and around the Toronto area including downtown.

Hours worked per day can vary as well but 10 to 12 is common in the busy season and they need drivers.

Thanks for the update. Keep us posted, okay? A lot of guys looking for local work don't consider mixers and they should.
