Millis OTR journal

I posted about that place on here once! That was one of my favorite overnight spots. Nice and quiet, and I would hit up that Marcos Pizza back there for some food. Real easy to get to off the turnpike - cross the Chelyan bridge and make a left and it's right there.

 

Get to Olive Branch around 11 last night. Trainee goes in and showers, someone picks them up at 1, trainee crawls back in truck around 8 am and goes to sleep. They did offer to drive but that wasn’t going to happen.

 

How can they be late more than once after they get in the truck? My trainer might have left him behind, I always made sure to remind him to wait until I got back from peeing during those late night fuel stops.

 

Was supposed to pick them up at 730, they called and said 930 then they called again and said 1130.

 

Not a good impression…cant make it to the the trainer’s truck on time, twice, going to make them
Think whether or not loads will be ontime..

 

Agree. Training should be part of the intv process. Trainees just don’t get it.

Sounds like you got another bad trainee. Do they wear Crocs? Flip flops?

I'd expect Millis to do a better job screening their trainees. That kind of attitude won't last long in driving, they'd be better suited to working at Midwest in Memphis.

Screening their trainees…hahahaha. If you can breath and have valid licenses that’s basically their and every other trucking company screening… I mean they hired all of us here lol
