Loan using trailer as collateral?

That shop at Little America is awful I'd call a tow truck and ask them for a quote to tow you the 30 miles to the KW dealership in Rock Springs.

 

Most banks will let you take out a loan on your equipment. If it’s your bank, you may get some great rates. BMO may, but not best rate. BMO finances commercial trailers.

 

No operating capital? No reserves? No credit available? Sell the trailer, walk away from the tractor, file bankruptcy and go be a company driver....

 

If you got OK credit and show decent income into the bank look for a bank statement like from lendio or something. Not to horrible rates and helps build business credit. I did this now they won't stop trying to get me to take a loan lol

 

Gotta agree with this. If you have been at it since at least 2019 and you dont have enough in the bank to get a turbo replaced, you should just drive and let someone else make the money.

 

Most turbos that are sold at Stealerships are remanufactured anyways, that’s why they charge you a core charge.

Order a reman online, have it shipped to an address where you’re at, buy some tools, go on YouTube, watch some videos and change the turbo and BPV yourself, and then get it calibrated.

It’s not that difficult to change a turbo, four bolts or nuts and the turbo is off.

Too many O/Ops who got in the game with no operating capital, reserves or too dependent on a shop to fix everything on their truck.

 

What have you told the broker or customer about the status of their freight?

 

If you are at rocky mountain I would get the hell out of there, you will be raped. Your parts are being marked up at least 30% and they have incompetent technicians. You think the price is bad now, wait until you have to get their mess up fixed.

 

I agree get a tow to Kenworth in Rock Springs. Little America is a bad place to be stuck anyway. Let the broker know right away what's going on. $13k is insane for a turbo so I would definitely get out of there and get a second opinion. I'd probably call the lienholder on the truck first and see if there is anything they could do for you.

 

You're not going to make the money doing power only or leasing onto a carrier. The trailer is the important asset in this equation. The truck is just the boat anchor you have to put up with.
