Wow, I don't believe I ever saw conditions like that on CA-58... and I must have run that stretch 100 times. I wish some of that snow would make it over here to the Tularosa Basin, we haven't had much precipitation lately.
Flat Earth Trucker, bzinger and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I'm sure the Grapevine and Cajon Pass look the same. The snow level was low enough, I bet even Banning Pass, Chiriaco Summit, and I-15 between Baker and Primm might have received some snow. I was wondering if even that summit between Ludlow and Needles (I think about 2,500 feet) might ever get snow.

CHP in SoCal won't even let you chain. I guess they trust the drivers that go over Siskiyou, though. Doesn't really make any sense.rabbiporkchop and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

The big problem they’re having over the grapevine and Tehachapi is the Highwinds, that’s basically making a white out conditions is why they closed it… The snow plows last night could not even keep up with it on the grapevine. It was coming down at a rate too heavy, and with the wind blowing, made it impossible to keep the road clear.JC1971 Thanks this.

This storm actually causes it to snow in San Francisco. It’s south in San Jose got snow… And some workers at the loves in boron California last night told me that it snowed a little bit there… This is definitely a storm. I’ve never seen like this before out there… they said the snow levels dropped to roughly 950 feet in elevationThe Railsplitter and JC1971 Thank this.
