Before you commit, friend or no friend, get it on a dyno and do a blow by test, then get an ecm dump and have an independent mechanic go through the entire truck.

KB3MMX and NarutoKirito Thank this. -
waste of money on an almost million mile truck, put it to the rebuild and buy it as needing a motor,Big Road Skateboard, NarutoKirito and AModelCat Thank this.

That's how I'd view it considering its best days are behind it.Big Road Skateboard and NarutoKirito Thank this.

I wasn't considering the mileage, but the process. Many get burned by buying junk from freinds and family and someeone they once hung around with, but using the same method and having the mindset that any truck that you can consider to buy isn't being bought on the word of the person selling it but the verification that it can be used 'out of the box' or need to be fixed <<< if that makes sense to you guys?AModelCat and NarutoKirito Thank this.

hope not dumb twucker, PacoTaco, bzinger and 2 others Thank this.

I would be amazed if that's the original OneBox on it. Usually 600K to 700K max.
I know a lot of guys inframe them at about 800K irregardless of how they are running, and will then run them to 1.5 million and beyond.
Replace the main wiring harness with it.
Go maybe $30K. Between $25K and $30K for it, if the body and interior are nice.KB3MMX and NarutoKirito Thank this. -
1.1 mill on mine , still looks great and tight .
Amazing what happens when ya maintain something and don't pound the piss out of it .Opus, KB3MMX, NarutoKirito and 2 others Thank this. -
That's what I'm saying... We have almost 18k hrs on one D13 and it's running like new with little blowby and zero oil consumption. It's been maintained on synthetic oil since new and never neglected on PMs.
I'm sure it will very easily go another 18k hrs as I've seen truck engines go over 50k hrs before that have been well maintained.bzinger Thanks this. -
Def yeah those emission problems are going to cost a load of money plus overhaul coming.Good luck
