One of our guys (and others) watched a Swift driver take it out on his tractor a couple of days ago... really PO'd. Slashed all tires, took a tire billy to the windows - they had to restrain him from setting fire to it.

    Hmmm... another "satisfied" customer?

It's been said, but I believe it's true. It comes down to size and number of new drivers. Everything that some people say they have seen Swift do, I have seen drivers from other companies and O/O's do as well. Swifties are just seen doing it more often because there's more of us. I've seen it, too. I can name quite a few occasions when a Swift driver ticked me off. I've also seen many occasions when a Swifty did right.

I take the jokes as jokes. Some of them are actually funny. The drivers who seriously think any driver in a Swift truck is dumb, I just ignore. Anyone with that attitude is not someone I want to hang out with anyway. At the end of the day, my driving speaks for itself.

Oh, and I don't urinate on the fuel island, though I doubt the drivers around would mind if I did.

They catch hell because they're the biggest tl carrier out there and they hire rookies. In a good economy, they're great but now? Well, just about all the trucking companies suck in this economy except for the few specialty drivers out there or the ones that have a lot of experience and got their gravy linehaul runs. I've seen bad Swift drivers and bad vet drivers out there of all shapes and sizes of big trux.

    I don't work for swift.....

oh wait I haven't done that ........yet......

Anyways Swift is kind of like the blonde of the trucking industry for now. They are widely known and a large company so any mistake they make (or are perceived to make) will be the butt of jokes for weeks to come.

I couldn't agree more Nana. Just the sheer volume of the number of truck Swift has on the road makes "us" more noticeable, do the math, of course your going to see more incidents. I'm new to Swift, and by new I mean I just got my own truck 2 weeks ago, but so far everyone has been more than supportive and encouraging and I am more than grateful for the experience.
