Are The New Petes better than Cascadias?

You're not missing much. Its a truck, it does the job but its not overly elegant. Only had 100k on the clock and it rattled pretty bad.

 

I have. Mine has 1.32 mln miles right now. DPF still in place.

 

I drive a 2018 Cascadia I got new from the boss. 75% of its life in the oilfield here in ND. 450k on the clock, still tight. Boss even ordered it with the tone paint, heated and cooled seats, all the trimmings. For a shaker, it’s nice. Just had the guts taken out of the, ya know, and no more yellow lights.

 

Time for you to buy a powerball ticket with that kind of luck.

 

That’s excellent! How many times you have a light in your face and have to get to a shop, or has that been 1.32 million miles with no breakdowns or tow Ins because of emission problems?

 

Cascadias are every bit as good as any plastic pete , kw or volvo but ya gotta take care of it and not beat it .
At 1.1 mill mine is tight , sharp and beats the hell out of my fleets new 680s that live in the shop ....and ...ITS PAID FOR .

 

Agreed. Probably would like them much better with a manual trans but I never want another manual again so there's that. Disc brakes are the best thing since sliced bread too. This thing will stop quickly bobtail, loaded, empty, whatever. Like a car. I can only imagine what the stopping power would be like if the trailer I pulled had discs.

 

Yeah it's definitely sluggish. I'm used to trucks with instant power and spool on tap. Took a lot of getting used to. I hang out behind slow trucks and let lots of faster traffic pass until all's clear before I get in the left lane cause it takes forever to build up that momentum to get on around. My old truck you could just step it out there anytime and get up to speed no problem and get back out of the way real quick.
