    Hmm, if its a 2005 you should have a C13, not a C12.

They had the c12 in 2005 but not the c-12. The c12 is the emissions engine and the c-12 is the so called dirty one.

You can put rv or fire truck file in. you can change your fuel codes. you can also run a file from 3176 and get some good power. Check your fuel pressure get it up to 110 psi by shimming pump. Replace your mufflers with high flow ones they dont make it loader just flow way better. These are not bad motors we had a fleet of these engines in kws. Keep a close watch if it starts to miss at all make sure lifters for injectors are not starting to slop around in holder the roller has brass center which slowly wares out and will eventually start to scrape at cam lobe and ruin cam. If you catch early enough this wont happen. But you still have to pull head to replace lifter. For some reson it happened to all 60 engines we had I beleave its from the amount of pressure thats being applyed from cam so the roller just fails. Its always the injector lifter that fails thats why I made this conclusion.

I thought the same thing but it came out of the factory with the c12. i bought it from original owner, the head cracked and he had just put all new tires and brakes, seals, bearings, cams, and adjusters, shocks, air bags, king pins, shackles so he was spent and couldn't afford to pay for the repairs. Im gonna frop the transmission hopefully next week and install a clutch and the 13 speed and send the shafts to get shortened then drive it and see how it runs.

I don't need a lot of power truck is gonna haul from milwaukee to springield IL 6-13k and 18-25k on its way back. Previous pulled reefer through out east and he claimed he got 7-7.3 MPG.
