While i like the idea, im a one truck operation and have a hard time justifying a 4-7k peice of equipment thatll only run on my used oil for the year. (100 hrs tops if i run harder than i want to) i could eat that in a week in january easily if im home, so it doesnt quite seem worth it.
Am i wrong? I can give a few local shops the oil, but thats also somewhat of a pita. Are there any cheaper smaller waste-oil setups i dont know about that make sense for a small operation like mine?

You talking about getting rid of used oil?
Local advanced and auto zone take 5 gallon a day and a block from one another.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Yes getting rid of oil.
I just hate having to store it in jugs or pails to then load it in my pickup and take to a local mechanic thats got an oil burner, he'd take 100 gallons at a go even, but its just annoying and a bit outta my way, not to mention the pails get in my way in the shop.
Used oil burners are expensive (from what i see) and really cater to places that have 100+ gallons to burn a week.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
That's why you've got an oil pressure gauge.
Rideandrepair and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
Yea but still wouldn't be fun if it happened. I was our other truck with tall rubber and someone in front of me smoked a deer on a 2 lane and I couldn't move over so I finished it off. Went under the truck dead center. If I was in the other truck with small rubber it probably would of broken the valve off if I had oneRideandrepair and JoeyJunk Thank this.

Update. I originally followed the instructions for the first time in my life and they were wrong! Instead of returning the thing I searched on YouTube and a guy did a review and showed how to open it properly. Now I identify as a self greaser.Rideandrepair, Tug Toy, lester and 2 others Thank this.

Appreciate it. But like I said. I change oil so little that I don’t need to have a drum in my tiny one car garage. The drain pan and a mechanic one mile away with a waste oil burner works out great.Last edited: Apr 8, 2022
