There's nothing left of 25 year old pre-ELD trucks but worn out clapped out junk. Unless you can find somebody with a garage kept cherry one that never hauled anything they probably want $250,000+ for it. Or maybe an overpriced worn out 6 or 7 year old glider truck.

Not yet, so far my information is that only Progressive is insuring new owner operators, correct me if I'm wrong. I heard 2000 dollars is standard per month.

I've been looking at Truckpaper and Facebook Marketplace. At this age you are looking at condition, not milage, I guess. What would you do?

Does the 150 miles farm radius count? Plus the hotshot. Or what are you referring to?

I'll sell you my pre-ELD 1999. Needs the engine overhauled but otherwise good shape with lots of new stuff. Yeah I know, not interested.

I started with about 40k after truck. Rented a trailer and had zero experience. This was 4 years ago when fuel was cheaper. I was close but manages to make it since I had figured out a lane that paid decent. It wasn’t easy but not extremely hard either.
I would be scared to get an old used truck that got crab mpg’s. That is not a model I would try out unless you had dedicated loads that paid well.
