No restrictions, up to 130 k gross, b train. Let’s say driving 11-12 hours a day, loaded on Monday for instance , be in Alberta Thursday, unload/ reload, start head back Friday, back on Monday or Tuesday morning, on 120 cycle, no road reset. In that case if there’s any bad weather or road closures, there is time to deal with it.
Would that be the way to do it?Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
I'd say you should be plenty fine, hours wise

Ok, thanks, good to know. Have you run that way?

Tons of times, mostly used 11 in ontario, not at 130k though, not much experience with b trains only some tomatos locally, going to Alberta 80-85k, always went to Edmonton most of the time sometimes calgary. I would pick it up either Monday and deliver Thurs or Friday or the opposite I'd load Thursday most times and drop Monday morning, that is a very easy sleep in every day run 10 to 12 hours just ease it along.

Much appreciated, any good places to stop along the route, in Manitoba or Saskatchewan. Have you tried to get to certain places or just whatever comes along, I travel on 17/11 frequently, but never pass Thunder Bay.

Plenty of decent spots, however like the rest of the country not a whole lot in the way of advertising. Where do you buy fuel and which city are you going to out that way? Or more interested in places where I fattened up the quickest?

For fuel it’s Esso or Pipeline, where in Alberta is unknown yet.

This is an old thread and things change. That spot by Parry Sound is now taken by a hotel.

So you probably are aware once you hit Manitoba fuel is significantly cheaper..
There is an esso at prawda, parking is huge there but food is limited.
Headingley just west of Winnipeg there's a flying j then go a bit further a husky decent size parking there. Brandon mb husky and an esso, husky parking is bigger/more suitable for super b but believe restaursnt is closed, esso has a Quiznos on north side of road. A variety of food if you are cool with walking a bit maybe 1 km.
Sask
Fuel: husky/esso: Regina (can't take new bypass if need fuel/park), moose jaw my usual fuel stop a husky if you need a shower some parking, the esso couple more clicks west huge parking and fuel, more suitable for super b, decent food but restaurant only open until 9 or so. In grenfell there's a little restaurant with good food and parking, think it's right beside the new big petro pass. Shower $10 if not petro pass customer. If going to Edmonton fuel in Davidson esso, good size parking for super b, otherwise Saskatoon small esso south of town/very small fuel and variety store, big husky or flying j north end of the city. Lloyd husky also good for super b and has shower/restaurant. Edmonton (Sherwood park) east of town flying j good size it's ok for super b, Dennys. Esso west of town 170 st or little more west husky at acheson good place there as well. Or can wait go south to red deer for fuel (only, esso cardlock), Calgary I like the husky in town at 32 and Barlow all services there food 6am to 10pm roughly. East of Calgary husky at Strathmore only maybe a dozen spots all pull thru. Bassano esso huge lot super b good there. Flying j Brooks not much pull thru but can park along the dead end road not much else there but good spot to sleep if needed. Medicine hat and Dunmore offer a new big flying j at the top of the hill never been in there but looks a good size. Esso for fuel not much pull thru spots good spaghetti there.
There's more spots for parking and food, I don't do tim hortons and go to same places most of the time. There's more of the same if you get up to grand prairie. Moreso husky/esso cardlocks. Farthest I've been up that way is fort st John, bc.Another Canadian driver, Magoo1968, Canadianhauler21 and 2 others Thank this.
