Area outlined in red will be the new parking area addition. Manager confirm it will essentially double the size of the parking there. It should be open. Come July the manager told me.

Maybe this idea will be like Covid & spread to all the truck stops throughout the US.

Long overdue for that location
PacoTaco Thanks this. -
At the Loves in Prescott, Ar, I30 exit 46, they are building a whole new truck stop across the street from the present one. When finished the old stop will remain open as well as having the new one. Always a cluster there so anything will be an improvement.
SoulScream84, JoeyJunk, Coover and 2 others Thank this. -
They sorely need more room there too..
-
Yeah, they did the same thing in Van, TX I-20 exit 540. Built one right across the road from the other & left both in operation. I'm thinking they did that in like 2017 or so...???
Now there is a Pilot going in right across the interstate on the east bound side. Just poured the concrete a couple of weeks ago.JoeyJunk, drvrtech77 and mjd4277 Thank this. -
I like that both loves and pilot are building. But they mainly just build small little fueling points, not actually truck stops. Those little 5 fuel islands and 30 parking spaces with 3 showers inside type of places. By 6pm there is no parking and the showers have ran out of hot water. So to add on when it could have been a bigger location in the first place. Yea thats retarded to me.

It probably a good way of getting it by the local zoning broad get approved for 30 trucks then add a 130 parking stops later.
JoeyJunk, alds and navypoppop Thank this. -
There's a new QT across the road from loves in Bennett, so they've been having price wars on fuel which is nice.
-
Probably the only way that the truck stop giants can get approval for any new construction is to limit the size of each stop. If they went into a meeting requesting 150 parking spots, 12 fuel islands, sit down restaurant, etc. they might be rejected upfront. Look at the new Petro franchise scheduled for Monteagle, Tn. that has been approved by city council but fought by the locals who do not want it. They blame water run-off and noise but I think that it will proced.
