I am looking at buying a 2005 Freightliner Century with a CAT C-15. Has 580k miles. I was wondering what mileage I will get with this motor. Is there a lot of problems with it etc
what would you guys pay for this truck? I'm planing to make an offer soon.
Also what can I get from downloading the computer ECM?
Does this show everything that has happened to the truck?..I'm not too familiar with Freightliners
.I used to drive Volvo's and I got used to looking at the computer, mainly because we had so many problems with the trucks
    Thanks

I have an '05 Freightliner Classic with a C-15 475.. so far it's been alright, had to replace the wiring harnesses under the valve covers (wire was broken and posting a #3 intake valve actuator low voltage code, and derating power like crazy) got that fixed and it'll keep pace with my old man's 475 ISX (which seems to pull very well). Not happy with the fuel mileage, i havent sat down to crunch the numbers but i'm guessing 3-4 mpg.

The guys in my local shop say this is the best ACERT motor cause it doesnt have all the emissions stuff the '07's do, they say they rarely see pre '07's in the shop.
