PRIDE AND CLASS
It’s all a big conspiracy. 10-4 is in on it too.
Truck Shows & EventsVampire, Jubal Early Times and Siinman Thank this. -
They're probably making it as close to how the customers want it and appease the epa not to charge them the big extra tax for being not aerodynamic, then the aftermarket is going to sell the headlights and air breathers we actually want but they can't send it from factory that way. Just a guess.

Funny how Peterbilt hasn’t even announced the end of the 389 yet or even about a replacement.
Shareholders kept in the dark..
Now some .org site claiming a big reveal.. Peterbilt must have decided to forgo the announcement and just slip the secret details under their door, lol.
All while these trucks are being spotted all over the place..But why even bother with a reveal at this point? Lol.
Texas Motor Speedway won’t even list it on their schedule.. It’s so secret!
Truth is the 389 will stay in production for a few more years.. The rumors of it ending are just a ploy to boost sales..after all, in the end it’s about sales to keep the shareholders happy.Vampire Thanks this. -
I haven't watched peterbilt Steve's YouTube in a while, maybe someone here has, seems to have the inside info. Wonder how far the backlog is for the 389, never bought one brand new myself, don't you have to have a dealer basicly sell you a build slot, and are they now taking build orders into 2024? I don't know.
The new dash with screens is a huge turn off to me. Just another reason to never look back for me.
You know, on more of that thought. Why doesn't peterbilt sell the most bare bones truck possible in order to keep the government happy, then offer "an aftermarket" business where they basicly take the entire cab and sleeper off and put whatever you want on it, 359, 379, 389. Call it whatever you want, for me the dream is a 379, no screens in the dash, as many gauges as you can fit. I might be able to stomach the 200k+ whatever they are asking nowadays if it was exactly what I want. Just more bs-ing around.Vampire and Rubber duck kw Thank this.
