    #### add another month of dang repairs to that bill before you can get new truck. At least these are normal wear issues and not something crazy.

Got a set sitting in my barn back home already i was going to do myself. Lot cheaper then the dealer doing them. Good call on the retorque though ill schedule it with my oil change.

True and i knew they were an issue and budgeted for them already last month. Only suprise was the brake drum itself being bad and the fairly new radator hose already being rotted. But ill take a simple repair over more of the crazy towing.

Also as an afterthought hoooooly #### does this thing run so much more smoothly. Those bad leafs made this thing feel like a solid axle almost. With the new leafs its back to being smooth as butter. I knew it was bad but yikes lol.

So as promised another update on the greenapu. Hit 1600 hours with it today and while the manual says 1000 hours for service. i always do the oil changes on diesels when the oil turns dark black which is 800 with this one seemingly.

Anyway no major issues to report as of yet aside from the 1 recall part, there have been no failures whatsoever and it happily chugs along keeping everything warm or cool. Been using t5 10w-30 and it takes just a hair over a gallon likely 4.25 quarts id guess since i use gallon jugs to put the oil level in the middle of the stick line. So i suppose next update will be at 2400 hours which is just shy (2700) of where my thermocrap threw a rod. Or if something explodes.

Also for the 800 hours it used an average of .79 gph which considering how often i run #1 is quite good. Average cost was $4.11 a gallon and it ran through 632 gallons. For a total cost of $2597.52. For comparison my main engine burns 1.6 GPH (post def mod pre was 1.1-1.2) so using the same figures i saved around $2660. Likely a bit more as i so rarely idle my truck im having to guess based off what my fuel consumption meter says and lowballing a bit.

    So im happy :)

How do you calculate how much fuel the APU is burning? Does it have that info somewhere in the control panel?

I put a little digital fuel flow meter on the fuel line going into the APU box and clamped onto a small metal strut in the box. so when i pull the bottom plate to get at my oil plug its easy to check. Gotta change the batterys every oil change and reset it but not a big deal. Just check how many gallons have passed through and divide by hours to get average consumption rate.

Well this happpened lol. Saw a light go out on the trailer while i was driving. Went to change it on my post trip last night and smelled burning sadness. Went to pull it and it had melted and looked like molten cheese coming off from the gasket.

Luckily it was just a rodent chewed on a wire and was a cheap easy fix. But i found it funny. They also found another dead and rather crispy mouse in there.

Welp today was a bad day. Moron decided to do a hit and run on me. By the time i realized what was going on he was slamming into me and i was fighting to avoid going into the barrier. Had my wheels chirping and smokeing a bit too.

The pictures really dont do justice to how bad it is looking at it from a distance whole truck looks like its leaning due to how bent everything is and the mirror is being held together with glue atm.

Hood assembly is a total write off, the hinge bar is bent to hell. Cattle guard is a total write off and mangled badly, it more or less took the whole amazon trucks hit and also actully bent the pin and sheered the cotter pin itself off. Tech says that cattleguard saved my hood bumper and wheel from the damage profile. Both mirrors are likely writeoffs. The bumper mount may be bent cant tell till they get the hood hinge bar assembly off. The allignment they cant check tonight. The headlight may be cracked behind the fiberglass. The hood may be a writeoff as well depends on if its cracked or gouged at the hinges. And the frame itself is fine though i might need a tow hook mount rewelded where it looks like it may be cracked from eating the whole weight of a truck slamming into them.

They did catch the mofo with my dash cam info and he is getting a laundry list of tickets including felony fleeing the scene in a construction zone for one and reckless endagerment for another..

Ugh i just cant catch a break lol. At least the rig is driveable but i get to join the beater club for a few weeks while insurance fights it out. Initial estimate is 10-15K depending on how severe the damage is once they pull it apart, if the hood and headlight is pooched im looking at as much as 20k+

Also sorry for lack of pictures, most have a crystal clear reflection of myself in them and i dislike that kinda info on social media

Dont take this the wrong way, but personally i dont know that i would want to insure you with the amount of bad luck you attract.

Just buy a 20k garbage truck you dont care about and if anything happens to it, take the insurance settlement and get rid of it and get another, plenty of piles of crap should be just about flooding the market any day now.
