To help troubleshoot and find the problem with your setup, I highly suggest one of these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z5VY7B6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
If you have a known good antenna and a good radio, it is possible that you have bad coax.Timin770 Thanks this. -
Lol... Hopefully the drone still works. So far the end fed antenna is working great. It has a noise signal of around S5 on 20 meters. My vertical was about the same, buts it's not a problem. It's been a few years since I've used a wire antenna, plus it's fun building them. Now if we can just figure out how to make them work on these big trucks.Last edited: Apr 8, 2023

That's a great price for an analyser. too bad it wasn't big enough for an so239 uhf mount instead of the sma. For that price, every truck driver should have one of those instead of an external swr meter. I have a rig expert aa-55 zoom. It's a great tool for antenna work. I would hate to be without it.

You can solder a small 1pF metal film capacitor from the center lead of your volume knob to ground on the circuit board to help get rid of white noise.

You can b
You can buy adapters for it, I did that when I placed my order for mine a while back. I just screwed the make and female adapters together to save space in the box. One thing to note is that you have to program them for the frequencies you are going to use it on. It has 4 memory channels so it is easy to recall each memory channel.Attached Files:

Well it's not white noise from the radio. It's just atmospheric band noise that the antenna is picking up. Today my radio is showing around an S4 when no one is talking on 20 meters. It's not as noisy as yesterday.

If I'm not mistaken the capacitor acts similar to the noise blanker on a CB when you add it. Very useful.

Yes I have a uhf to sma adapter for the vna open short load calibration kit. I'm not really sure why they send the open connector. When my rig expert says to install the open calibration connector, I just leave it off and push ok. To me an open connection is an open connection. The reason I wished they made a little bigger analyser with the uhf connector installed, is that would be one less adapter to carry around. Of course an analyser for 60 bux, I could carry an extra adapter.
