Borg Warner all the way, now the air ratio depends how big of a tune your gonna drop in the 6NZ. Bullydog amd Pittsburgh is the same as B/G, they just stamp there name on it and charge you twice the price. I ran what they called the stage one(I bought it in 3 pieces and put it together myself) but now they have number for it. If you use the search feature on top and type 6NZ turbo or Borg Warner, you will find countless threads on this.

I had an s410sx on my 550 c15 and it did a good job no complaints.

1.32
1.45 will be laggy, unless you get spicy with injectors and rolling coal. -
Sorta impossible to answer correctly without being considered blanket advice. I have run a 78 in a 1.32 and a 1.45. The 1.32 is gonna over speed the compressor wheel and not live long. It’s also not going to like to pull all the way to the top. Pyro is probably in the down pipe so it’s gonna lie to you a little more than you think. The 1.45 spools a little slower but seriously you ain’t gonna miss it however it’s gonna pull on up to higher RPM. You’re gonna see lower EGT due to better flow. You’ll do more on less boost. Don’t buy into boost psi equals HP. Really you should consider an 80 in a 1.45 depending on your ECM settings.
I’m going to say this too. The minute you start trying to get more you start loosing longevity. if 550 won’t get it done maybe you’re asking too much. You will get so much piss poor information that will cost you money. It sucks jumping stock trailer to trailer on the shoulder. -
Check the place in clearfield,pa by the truck stop always seems reasonable

Ok maybe not the best choice then. Learn something every day.

I know folks that get along really good with that turbo, I didn’t mean to make it sound like a horrible choice lol. Though it can be if you got a hired driver in it that thinks turbo bark is cool. I also will go different directions according to what you do with the truck. From the OP’s chosen screen name I assume he pulls a cattle pot. The bigger housing really helps us lots of times due to high out side temps, heavy as crap, stupid wind in the Midwest we’ll gear down half a gear and spin one up a little to maintain a decent road speed and help keep it cool. So the flow of the 1.45 is not a must but sure helps.Feedman, Last Call, rollin coal and 1 other person Thank this.

No I understood. Oddly I did have a "stage 1" turbo blow up on that motor that I bought as 3 pieces same as Diesel Dave. I was told it was because it had a cast compressor wheel instead of a machined one. But it could have been a little bit of user error on my part.
I didnt know jack **** about turbo surge until I blew up a turbo on my Detroit more recently and started reading up on it. That was stupid on my part but I didn't know what I didn't know. I never barked it because I thought it sounded good more of a, it happened sometimes and I'd wonder why it does that and didn't know what it was. Expensive lesson lolFeedman, Last Call, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I ran a good single I was bad to pull mine down too far if I was tired and there wasn’t a way to let off easy enough to not stall it. I have to be really careful with my new set up they make it really feel like an electronic motor down low. But like a stock car above 1500 lol. With it being a mechanical B I still don’t like anything under 1400.
You’re right there is a cast compressor wheel and a Billet wheel. The billet wheel helps but I know guys that are good for 1 a year. Course if I drove my truck like that my dog would disown me that’s how bad they can abuse one lolFeedman, Last Call, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this.
