    The United States doesn’t sell oil, it doesn’t process oil. When oil is released to the market it goes to the market. ExxonMobile, BP, Shell, Phillips, Total Energy, and Valero sell oil. It’s called capitalism. Private enterprise. Words you have probably heard before, but apparently don’t comprehend. Oil is a worldwide commodity and it all goes to the same refineries and gets sold in the same markets. The United States, specifically private oil companies, are the largest producers and second largest exporters of oil in the world. They sell to whomever is buying. That’s how markets work. We call that capitalism.

    Here are the winning bids for the strategic release of oil, all US based companies. Contracts were awarded to the following 12 companies:

    * Atlantic Trading & Marketing, Inc. (2.1 million barrels)

    * Chevron USA (1.025 million barrels)

    * Equinor Marketing & Trading (0.7 million barrels)

    * ExxonMobil Oil Corporation (3.6 million barrels)

    * Glencore Ltd. USA (2.6 million barrels)

    * Marathon Petroleum Supply and Trading LLC (2.375 million barrels)

    * Mercuria US (0.5 million barrels)

    * Motiva Enterprises LLC (4.05 million barrels)

    * Phillips 66 Company (2.5 million barrels)

    * Shell Trading (US) Company (2.75 million barrels)

    * Unipec America, Inc. (0.95 million barrels)

    * Valero Marketing and Supply Company (6.85 million barrels).

    Also, each and every time biden released oil from the reserves, he did so in accordance to other countries releasing oil from their reserves. If they do, we do, if they don’t, then we don’t. Domestic drilling has skyrocketed under Biden, compared to Trump. This is not disputable unless you photoshop all the data that says otherwise, and since trumps Twitter account is live again you can go back and see all of his posts bragging about getting that OPEC deal

    I got to a few parts and stopped. All oil is not the same so you lost me at that point. Go do some more research. Let me know if you have every worked out in the oilfield and then maybe you can understand a little bit how it works. Real jobs have been lost in the oilfields because of Biden! This is simple fact and honestly I could care less about arguing it over the internet. Go out to West Texas where most of the oil is taken from the ground and ask them. Please don't go with the thought process that you know everything either. Go out and ask questions and get an interview with some of the company men that run the sites if you can.

    And yes I know how the free market works. US is in general instead of labeling every company that producing oil in the US. But it is indeed US OIL!

    You do understand that permits have nothing to do with production? They will get permits for years in advance and drill whatever min amount they need to keep the lease. This has nothing to do with actually finishing off a well. Try again! Let me know when you actually go talk to people in the field that see it day in and out. Use your own ears and eyes and not some dumb government posted propaganda.

    It’s very difficult to portray the current administration as “pro oil”. It started on the first day when they killed the pipeline. Easy to hand out drilling permits; nobody is going to spend the money developing a field and putting it into production if the political environment is going to make transporting it to market impossible.

    that said, much discussion out there about the world already having passed “peak oil”. The world continues to become more efficient in oil consumption, while diversifying energy sources. Solar has gotten dirt cheap in sunny areas of the world, and just keeps getting cheaper. Wind generation is going up everywhere and keeps getting cheaper. A Saudi oil minister is quoted as saying “the Stone Age didn’t end because we ran out of stones”. Oil has been key to our Western world wealth building, but it’s hardly an ideal energy source. Dirty, dangerous, hard to physically move around, politically vulnerable. Too much blood from good men has been shed to acquire it, defend it and secure it. I don’t have an emotional need to keep using it. Choice is a beautiful thing.
