If you advance your timing will the engine run better (advancing with the bull gear) I found my engine was advanced 25000th when I rebuilt the engine. I knew something was up when the dealer wouldn't warranty the rebuild and wouldnt explain the benefits of having it advanced....

I have no idea. I’m not a mechanic. Out of curiosity what year is your engine? Was the Dealer a Manufacturer’s Dealership?
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Exactly who told you it was advanced, and how was that conclusion derived?
Oxbow, Rideandrepair, singlescrewshaker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thanks for responding. The mechanics was installing the cam. He told me that the timing was 25000 advanced and he said that he was able to get it adjusted at the cam to 5000 (I'm out of my wheelhouse here) he also said that Detroit told him the rest of the correction had to be done by removing the front cover. (I'm assuming the bull gear) they also said the book hours was 34 hours to remove the front cover iv also been told the actual book time was 25 hours I'm being screwed (or at least I feel like it)
