You could spend 8-15 yrs before ever getting a feeder position… those are UPS Parcel cream of the crop.

 

Mostly the purpose of the cones is depth perception so you don’t straight back into an object… but you right. Never seen one use cones at truck stops though.

 

It depends on the local terminal. I was hired off the street some years back, and my terminal continues to do that.

It is a great job, though. I'll retire from here.

 

Yeah, but you one of he most fortunate drivers… that doesn’t happen often. I’d relocate for a feeder just off the street hire on.

 

They were hiring for sleeper teams all over the country. Best way to get in.
