The title of the link made me laugh until I read the story. I hope she gets compensated for what she endured. I don't know how you wouldn't know there are men hooking a tow truck to your vehicle though with you sitting in it.
Another Canadian driver and mjd4277 Thank this. -
She’s going to get a pay day.. the city of flint and the towing company might want to go ahead and settle now because I don’t see how any Jury is going to side with them

"Resisting repossession", what the actual F. That repo reality TV show wouldn't exist at all if that were a real crime anywhere.Another Canadian driver, Flat Earth Trucker and drvrtech77 Thank this.

As if the City of Flint didn’t have enough issues..
As for the towing company involved. Something like this might require an intervention from the state (possible sanctions, maybe even including having their operating license suspended or revoked).
And that’s not including the fact that they pepper sprayed the woman (aggravated assault and battery) and lied about her being armed(which is a major no-no).
All of which they did violated Michigan repossession protocols.
I hope they get their ##*** nailed to the wall-with a red hot poker shoved down their throats and a white hot pitchfork shoved up their ***!Last edited: Apr 21, 2023

The reality is, neither, she or the BF own the car. Instead of getting out of it, these pieces of trash go ballistic. They’re not responsible people or they wouldn’t find themselves in this situation to begin with. There are plenty of repo shows out there, demonstrating how these pieces of garbage react, when the repo man shows up. That woman is NOT a victim. All she had to do was get out of the car that isn’t hers.
AModelCat, Another Canadian driver and bzinger Thank this. -
Even then there are rules to be followed-and the towing company broke every one of them. The BF paid and got the car back and now the towing company is going to be taken to the cleaners!drvrtech77, Another Canadian driver, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this.

Oh FFS, are you seriously using Hollywood as a guide as to what happens in the real world?
Please tell me you simply forgot the /s tag?Another Canadian driver, Gearjammin' Penguin, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why do I have the image of Whoopi Goldberg stuck in the phone booth on this one?

This is the problem. They know the rules and exploit them to their advantage. When they don’t abide by the rules they agreed to (loan agreement), then, they play by the rules on the other side (laws for their defense). Whichever works in their favor is the way they sway.
Yep. I’m serious. Not everything is made for Hollywood. Remember COPS?
I lived amongst these pieces of garbage. When they don’t get their way, they go off, playing the victim card, destroying your business, destroying the asset, doing everything but paying their balance. When you go after them for damages, they don’t have any money, they might get a misdemeanor, and they walk away free. They know that, so that has become their SOP.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
