Playing devils advocate here....yes and no. There is a growing body of evidence to suggest genetics as well as physiology make it so your body wants to stay fat once its fat and can make it extremely difficult to go back, some cant do it at all as their bodys are just geared towards being bigger to begin with. There are also those with health concerns such as bad hearts, various diseases or damage upto and including lost limbs who get fat and have a very hard time being not fat for any number of reasons.
Not imposible at all but the most extreme cases in most instances granted but this is the first time in history where you actully have a obesity problem because food is so cheap and literally in your face 24/7. We are learning a lot. Besides some people just need help.
My own personal question however is what the long term effects would be. Wonder id this will be another wonderdrug that kills people.Snow Hater, Rideandrepair, Opus and 4 others Thank this. -
I was fat for the first half of my 20s. I cleaned up the diet, dropped about 40 lbs. Added in regular physical activity and dropped another 40.
I just see all pills like this as the typical solution for ailments most people can cure with just a little bit of effort.Last edited: Apr 28, 2023

As i said devils advocate, doesnt mean i like the idea of the drug, even if I can see situations where its nessesary, can understand arguments abiut genetics. or even support it when its the only realistic way to get to a healthy weight for esentially sick people. For me personally id never take it unless it was a life or death thing. Say needing to drop 100 pounds in a hurry or die to a heart attack or something as an example.
Mericle cures like that tend to have nasty long term side effects or people on them get even MORE unhealthy when they get off the drug or cant afford the drug and balloon to bigger then they started with. They become dependant on a crutch. Hard work and enforced self control are the only real way to get it off and keep it off.Rideandrepair, Opus, LtlAnonymous and 1 other person Thank this. -
