You mean with those stainless steel toilet sink combos. Lol. Don't think that would go over too good.

I'm kind of curious about what the backing trace is based on. I see it differs based on angle and that particular end spot on the angled lot. How much leeway is there in that? Is it basically a perfect parking job? The reason I ask is on most days drivers will need a little extra room to get into a space. There's some exceedingly tight lots which I'm sure were designed by engineers just the same. My latest nemesis is the back of Willington, CT TA. Always a spot, but that's only because most drivers aren't brave enough.

In this case (like so many), the lot was laid out when overall vehicle length was 55 feet. A 55 foot combination vehicle would have no problem getting into any of those spots. A 68 foot vehicle is a different story - that's at least a 20 foot aggregate difference. The trucks in the surrounding spots are sticking out 10 feet further and the driver is 10 feet longer. The problem is so many new constructions just mimic what was done before and don't take into account that we're longer and wider than we used to be.

Regards the Willington, CT lot, that just guarantees you a spot, because they have no skills, so don't complain. :)

Seriously, my first time there, I had to do it with my First KW900, and I 'touched' the old K-barriers they had there between the front and back lots backing that thing in. :(....but that was the only time I had trouble there, after that, the KW and me became friends. :) It's a tight lot, and not for the faint of heart, but it's doable. In fact, most of the times I had trouble finding a spot to park, that one spot that no one else wanted to try for, improved my skills, and I look for it now. Even if I have to get in and out for 15 minutes to make sure I don't "touch" anyone. But I get my parking spot. :)

Since then, I started making a habit of driving until 4:00 am, when others were getting up, so I could make sure I had a spot. :)

Sorry if I am repeating what some else has already said. Full sizes spaces to near the entrance can lead to backed up traffic in the road when a driver takes a long time to back in. This could cause trouble from the locals. For flatbeds with 6 foot of rebar hanging off the back and a long frame tractor with the 5-wheel all the way back and split tandem 53' trailer with the rear axle all the way back would like to see a spaces on the outside with nothing in the grass like trash cans or light poles and no need to jack knife to get in. I would trade a few well chosen full length spots for some bob tail spaces as I hate when I pull into a nearly full parking lot with lots of full length spaces used by bobtails. Also stick some more bob tail spots in any little extra space they will go. I always thought that most shower rooms (not the showers them selfs) where to big and a waste of space. More smaller shower rooms means less waiting. A small display case near the shower room entrance full of bags or even individual, small travel size shampoos, laundry detergent etc for sale would be welcome. I think free showers would be a mistake as they will not be a priority then and a good many of us really appreciate a hot shower. Plenty of low-carb food selection would be nice. Also, maybe two levels of wifi service -- a low cost for those who are just going to read an article or two and a higher priced high band width options with properly designed high power antenna for those who might like a movie.

How do you prevent drivers from parking on the "outskirts" of the lot----where there are no official lined stalls? They "invent" their own spot. Admittedly i have done this myself on occasion, but i made sure i was well out of anyone's way.

i'm talking about where there may be an obstruction issue.

If I recall correctly the thread is about a private paid lot so it shouldn't be an issue.
