I'm not sure if I've ever seen these secured in this way before, and was wondering if anyone else thought this was 'okay'...but secured on the front, back and the middle, without blocking or headers seems to me to be asking for a problem.

What is it exactly that you are concerned about ?
-
Look at the first and second picture. And then look at this video and you will understand what’s going on here.
cke, God prefers Diesels, exhausted379 and 5 others Thank this. -
If its a flatbed built for hauling the axles & wheels they usually have stops built into the design for the front and back.cke, God prefers Diesels, Kyle G. and 4 others Thank this.

Unfortunately, there was nothing but open deck except for that back 'tab' behind the wheels on each side. The first picture looks like there might be little 'bumps' between axle wheels, but it is actually just the space between the deck and the part of the wheel that sits on a track.
I need to see if it's still there and take better pictures, but from what I saw and the picturs show, there is one chain on back wrapped, one chain on front wrapped, and one in the middle wrapped...but nothing over top of the axles, no blocking on sides of wheels to keep them in line, and no header boards. This certainly isn't the way I've transported them before, I've done it with the exception of the lengthwise 2x4's like the video shows. Used dunnage that was nailed in between axles crosswise. -
Certainly looks like chain pop ups down the center. That trailer has built in rails. This guy most likely hauls them often. Since his trailer specifically has rails for them. What few times I have hauled them the generally won’t let you leave until they have inspected securement. But I’ve only hauled maybe 3 loads of them and it’s been a whilecke, God prefers Diesels, IH9300SBA and 3 others Thank this.

What you're seeing is the middle securment, the one toward the back, is the chain on the outside and a strap/chain on the inside, but it's from the back set of axles. The one you see in the middle, is for the middle axle, and the one in the front is a double like the back,, but it's grabbing the two axles on back and front..the middle one only was around one, that I could see. There is no tracks, there, and the stops in the back, are probably just to keep it from rolling off until it gets cinched up, but that still leaves 5 out of 8 that I was able to see actual securement on, with what appears to be 3 floaters. Like I said, I'll have to see if it's still there so I can get better pictures, but I'm not confident since that was taken yesterday Sunday and I suspect it was delivered today.
