Look, I've been in this for a while. I'm not sure where you get off assuming I don't like trucking. I do. I don't like BROKERS. I don't like 1099 companies (fake ones). So, by your logic I should leave trucking instead of advocating for things to get better?

Why the pushback? I know this board is run by recruiters. Are you also brokers?

Again, cry me a river. The percentages taken are too much AND the regulation demanding brokerage transparency is easily circumvented by adding a contract term that such is waived - or no load. It's a regulation, not law, so not illegal....but it is obviously unethical.

So, I should quit the industry. Is that really your sage advice Staff Dude?

I didn't say he was. When was the last time YOU looked at a load board? Those runs actually exist...every day. If that's the only load getting you to a place for a better pickup or home, those brokers will not budge even a little. If it's embarrassing in your mind to call these things out and buck the idiot's trend of "that's just the way it is," then I think you (and others like you) are too weak for this discussion. I want things to change a bit, and I'm willing and able to walk that path. Success or failure, I will still walk that path. Not just for me, driver...for you, too.

This crap is unethical. I'd like to see it become illegal (regulation v legal code).

Footinmouthitis. Instant laughter. I don't think OP is trolling. I think he is genuinely pissed off as probably a good solid 90% of us would be.

Oh man, "be glad you aren't in Oregon"...OP posts stub showing the referred to PAID leave deduction. Intentionally showed out of order, though. That actually isn't a bad idea, really. I'd be willing to pay if Texas had something like this and it did provide for the leave of my own condition, as Oregon does.

Totally random and unrelated, sorry that it doesn't really help anyone.

You know this board is run by recruiters? This board is about as far from being run by recruiters as it can get. We're not brokers either. Where do you come up with this stuff?
I've read all of your posts. They all have the same message, over and over again. You don't like brokers. Well, who does?
Go ahead and complain all you want. We'll certainly give your complaints the attention they deserve.
But don't cast aspersions on this board without knowing what you're talking about.

Now I was a bare faced unabashed recruiter for my small yet up and comming company called----&---. I would read a sad but all too common story of a truck driver down on his financial luck and offer him a pathway out of the quagmire he had put himself in all while enjoying the opportunity to drive a large car with a NEW matress and several popular custom touches.
I can assure you that the people who run this board took note of my recruiting efforts and put a stop to them ASAP.
I don't have any hard feeling against them and understand their efforts to keep this board a neutral place free of recruiting and all that entails.
