Hi,
When I have a trailer hooked up and the truck (1995 International 9200) is shut down I have a slight air leak at the leveling valve. If I wiggle the arm down to the frame it stops. I have sprayed the airbags with a water/soap solution and find no leaks. I originally thought I had an airbag leak but you all helped me troubleshoot the problem.
Is this valve something that requires replacement, adjustment or the linkage lubricated? This is a system I know very little about. Thanks for any input on the subject.
All the best,
Fred

Those valves are just plastic and will wear out. They start to leak at the pivot. Not really a big deal, only to the DOT inspectors.
Big Road Skateboard and FredW Thank this. -
Hi,
Well the valve is old so I guess I will replace it. Thanks very much for the input.

put a new valve on it, it's pretty easy to do. Just make sure to adjust the valve so the ride height is correct. On my '00 9400 the ride height was 3.25-3.5" from the top of the spring u bolt to the bottom of the stop, and measure from the axle closest to the leveler valve.
FredW Thanks this. -
Fred, you'll have the old "Z" leaf spring air ride. The height is 12.5" +/- 1/4" from the bottom to the top of the air bag.
FredW Thanks this. -
Hi,
You know your trucks! That is exactly what I have. I will do that job this week and adjust them to 12.5 +/- 1/4. I sure appreciate the info.

Yes, you are right, from the top of the underside of the frame rail, to the top of the cross bar that the air bags are bolted to. See the picture I have included.
