Failing your test

The percentage is pretty low. Most of the people who fail the tests do so for just average nervous dumb reasons, the very VERY smaller percentage fails because there is a percentage that will just probably never obtain the rudimentary skills to pass the test.

 

The chances thing depends on what the infraction was for not being successful. If its simply too many or too few points out of 100%, the driver can attempt the test the next day (which is doubtful with the appointment backlogs) and if a safety infraction, the driver must wait 7 - 14 days to test again (if memory serves?!?)

 

Back in 1979 I wanted to drive so bad that I studied every chance I had. Got 100% on Class A,B,and C. No schooling required.

 

Well, you might as well have been on a different planet... The CDL wasn't even a thing in 79

 

Same for me but did it in 2013 on my own. Well, all the written test..

Then paid a local dude from craigslist $500 for use of his 4700 lo-pro intertrashional single screw & 35' single axle beer wagon. We putt around town ~2hrs Thursday & Friday. Met me at the test site Saturday AM & voila, done..

It was possible in the CDL time just not since February, 2022 if I got that right. Think it was 2022 anyhow..?

 

I got mine on a whim. Was at the registries office and figured why not? It was like $50 to write the test. Passed it and went to the local college for some driving lessons after work over the next month. I was decently ok at shifting and backing right out of the gate. More or less just needed some seat time to get some confidence handling the truck and trailer out on the streets and around other traffic.

 

He didn't say CDL, he said class a. I got my class a in 1982 while I was still in high school. The drivers test was essentially the same as a passenger vehicle without 3 point turn.

 

Same planet. The test were broken down in 3 sections. 1st sheet was your Class C, the 2nd sheet one side had Class A and the other side had Class B. I have NOT taken any what you call “CDL” period. I do take my Hazmat just for a challenge, I don’t use it or need it.
