Thanks for telling me what I do know and/or may not know. What would I do without you?

I wasn't being mean when I wrote that. I just meant that you were being exactly what you need to be with the position you hold here. No offense meant. I apologize if offense was taken. I should have been more clear.

Did you ever get the rest of the story?
How are the other drivers taking it?
Would love to hear an update on this thread if you get a chance.

The pay cut was company wide.
Yes. The pay decrease went in effect for all company drivers. I don't know about the dollar per mile guys who have their own tractors. Those poor souls.

Only spoke to one other company driver. He wasn't upset. He seemed to almost expect it.

Company seems to be solvent otherwise. Not much else to tell.

I mean companies decided to do pay raises as everything was booming. Now we have this down turn rates are in the trash. They can't afford to pay $.70 a mile with today's rates. They be lucky to make a $.20 profit

Hate to go along with a pay cut, but my Daddy told me during the great depression companies began asking employees to accept pay cuts. Those that refused were easily replaced, and found they could not find another job at same pay.

I think it depends on how worried about the economy and much the OP likes this particular job whether he should take the cut or not.

What about those companies that didn’t give raises the last few years? I’ve been at a company 2 1/2 years, we haven’t seen even a cola.

did that company shrink a bit or that time?
I know that was a strategy for some mid sized fleets rather than chase drivers with pay increases they just got smaller and leaner
