Here’s one of our older ones I had earlier last week. The front axle is off the ground but just barely.

Well got a couple loads booked for Friday and next week. Both loads are around 15-16k so might be able to try the lift axle. I will need to get some weights and see what it is once loaded. Will be from MO to WA and from WA to IA. Will be interesting if I can do the lift axle.
@Long FLD what kind of weights in your auto trailers has the lift worked on in your experience? Mine will only be able to do manual.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Seems like a load weighing around 18k they will stay down. Sometimes if you’re right on the threshold it will be up but you might stop and park and it will drop when you’re leaving, or be down and come up later in the trip. I don’t know what the pressure is regulated at that makes them drop.

Do they have 20K axles as well or heavier?

I’m not sure. I’ve never looked into it.

Well I had to cancel my good loads for this weekend and next week. #### people at the shop says they won't get it done until Friday afternoon best case. Somehow they had to do something different. I honestly didn't listen to the explanation on what was the deal on it. Said they had to stop working on it yesterday to make sure they had all the right stuff. Gonna start working on it tomorrow but whatever.

Says I can go pick it up and bring it back afterwords but I don't want to have to wait yet again like this time. So told them to just finish the #### thing. Really pisses me off as I knew this would happen with this shop. I have not been impressed at all but fill. Pretty much anywhere you go these days they suck, hard to find good workers and this is one of the reasons they have problems. They only have two guys that can do all this kind of stuff, so if they get pulled off of a job you end up waiting for them.

Manager also says they underbid the job and they are gonna eat most of it. Told him if he could finish the #### job on time I would pay the extra price but he said no way he could do it. Money does not talk in this instance!

This right here is why, in the past 5 years or so, I have purchased enough tools and equipment to about open my own shop. Work gets done when and how I choose, and zero repair failures.

In fact, with the "This is the End" thread in mind, it's starting to have appeal as a retirement gig. Specializing in various things that the usual truck repair and dealer outlets will either fumble every time, or outright refuse to do because they know they lack the competence.

I am sure you would do good in the market. I would take my stuff to someone like that in a heart beat if I knew of them. Problem is I do not know anyone like that around here.

I hate dealing with incompetent people and that is the only people around it seems like these days. If I was in good health and had someone that could help I would do these kind of jobs myself. Still do not feel like myself yet but starting to feel better after getting off of that ozempic. That drug #### near killed me and messed my body up almost beyond repair. Never been out of shape my whole life and always had energy for days. That stuff ate every piece of muscle I had in my body. Was almost bone by the time I stopped taking it.

Have you taken anything to T&E since you’re in KC?

I have not, I know Chad does work in the area for alignments but not much on those guys for doing work it self. They had been looking for a new supervisor not to long ago so not sure how they are run.
