Oh yeah I still use canned veggies. I have to get the ones marked no or low sodium. If the store have the ones marked low sodium, I still get them anyway, but I gotta rinse them off once they come out of the can so I can reduce the sodium. Frozen veggies are a little bit easier to avoid sodium. As for seasonings, Mrs. Dash or something to the equivalent is really good, or I've been using crushed red peppers or cutting up fresh jalapeños or other fresh peppers as seasonings. Instead of onion powder or garlic powder, I'll use and actual onion or actual garlic. Now if I slip up and have something to eat with high sodium, I eat something with high potassium behind it so it can reduce the negative effects of sodium. I've eaten fresh spinach salads just about every single day this entire year, and spinach is rich in potassium.
