I just completed my one year experience. I’m currently trying to get into fuel out here in California, how ever a year ago I got a cell phone ticket in my personal vehicle . Will this affect my chances of getting into fuel ? That is my only ticket with the DMV . Thanks in advance

If you had your CDL at the time it is more likely to affect your job opportunities than if you hadn’t gotten it yet at the time of the ticket.
-
Is it on your MVR ?
-
Well it sure won’t help. Best advise is to contact a recruiter, or a safety dept. official from the company’s you may an interest in working for, and ask them. What where you doing in the 4-wheeler that earned you the citation? On the phone in a school zone? Construction zone?
-
It can affect your chances of getting on with any company. See the advice above and go from there.

I was on my way home from work , just with the bad habit of having the phone on my hand resting on it and the cop saw me no construction zone or school zone or anything like that. I regret not fighting it, since the cop said no points on first offense.

Yes it is , I just checked unfortunately

Ohio just made it a stop able offense in a 4wheeler. 6 months no citations. But they are getting very serious about it. Can even be in your hand.

Depends on the company
Usually a cell phone ticket in a commercial vehicle is very different from getting one in a car .northstarfire0693 Thanks this. -
Exactly. I would just be open with the company about it. You should be fine. FYI never just take a ticket and pay it. Always go to court. Better chances on it getting tossed or reduced.
