It’s not, the driver admitted himself to the hospital and passed away due to a heart attack. That’s why I wanted to haul ### back to the the terminal and be done with lol. I’m more worried about maggots developing from the expired food -_-

Not my first rodeo with maggot infested trucks btw lol.

Well, you did agree to do this job.
You are in control of how you handle this.
You could fly there and jump in the truck and haul as! back as fast as you can, or...
You could fly out there, get some rest, and then deal with it on your own terms.
There is no real time limit.mustang190, brian991219, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Fair enough lol,

From what I've read, the driver who abandoned a truck may do some extra things to make it beyond filthy. It sounds like you will not have to contend with that factor.
-
What I don’t get is why do some companies wait 2-4 weeks or even longer to rescue a truck knowing dam well the driver passed or abandoned it.hope not dumb twucker and Bean Jr. Thank this.
-
It has me scratching my head. You might be lucky. He may not have left perishables in it.
-
Yeah I’m not really getting my hopes up right now lol I already know the truck is dead and the flying j’s don’t have a mechanic shop, they do have a golf cart so I might be able to jump the truck from there 4 batteries.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

You'll well know if the Interior is safe when you open a door, especially after, say, 4 weeks with the windows up.
I never rescued a truck, just was sickened, in person, by a few dozen stories from abandoned Truck Rescuers as well on the Chatter Box.
Hope, for you, there's nothing amiss, or your return journey may be sans truck.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
I don't know how some drivers do it, yet there are drivers dedicated to truck rescue/recovery at the larger fleets that seem to love the job assignment. Worse yet, those fleets expect many of them to run revenue loads with the recovered truck. No way, not happening. I strongly dislike when I have to move a used trade-in for the dealership I drive part-time for, not running loads with someone else's filth pile.
Kinda cheap of your company to send you with jumper cables and hope for the best. They should make arrangements to have a mobile service tech meet you to get the truck running since you know it is dead and give it a good once over to make sure, after 4 weeks abandoned in a truck stop, nothing critical is missing or messed with.Bean Jr., bzinger, haycarter and 1 other person Thank this.
