Cascadia Antenna Solutions

Tilted foward about 30-40 deg and a 3ft piece of pvc at the base..
Top 5ish feet still move around in the wind (just not like it would without pvc,in a cross wind it would touch a passing truck in the lane to my left)but i tune based on the ant at speed vs sitting still

 

On one of Craigs threads, he has a picture of his antenna setup on his truck. The 3 foot pvc at the base of his antenna doesn't look all that bad either. He sure has some great numbers showing on his antenna analyzer, on a truck that has poor RF ground. If you browse through his antenna threads, it will probably help you a lot.

 

Shush....Somethin happened and i cant see to get it as good as before...Im guessing so.e chassis grounds are corroided so.ewhere buggering my set up some..

 

Probably salt and road gunk build up I see on Another group a driver show a pic of his ground strap it was just eaten away

 

Hee, okay... Well even with your poorer numbers, your antenna system is probably better than most.

 

I’ve read a lot of your guys posts about the Cascadia. I got a 2023 and am thinking about running a 102” whip. I got a Connex 4300 300. Will the Whip antenna work fine for the truck?

 

Even at about 40ish deg the 102 would sit up straight at say 65...The worst part is that its like a wet noodle whip..

 

Anything I can do to remedy that problem?

 

Well what i did was to buy a 10" riser off ebay..Cut threaded end off the one and tune...Once tuned i picked up some indoor plastic water pipe(just big enough to go over the riser)about 1.5' to 2' max...It stabilized it a good bit....Only the the part of the whip exposed was enough to do tje trick..
