just sharing
I have been working as a company driver for several years now, and today for the first time I was asked to change the log book. And they hinted that it would be necessary to do this all the time, because now is a difficult time.
In short, I am now unemployed.Beaver9, Rideandrepair, Gatordude and 12 others Thank this. -
Making a left turn.
This is the future
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Check our help wanted section if you want to drive to the highest safety standard, and pull down $100K.

if you want to fight it. you have a lawsuit on your hands.. it is not legal for them to fire you for not wanting to break the law.. companies like these are getting sued into oblivion.Beaver9, Rideandrepair, Gatordude and 5 others Thank this.

I hear you. It all came crashing back this week and highly doubt it's going to improve as we go throughout the month. I keep telling myself these trash carriers can't hang for much longer. You can't tell me these carriers have enough cash flow from operations to pay their truck and/or trailer note.
But the consumer isn't strong right now. Target, Macy's, Dollar Tree, Advance Auto Parts and Autozone all lowered their forecast just in the past week due to lower consumer spending and bloated inventory levels.Rideandrepair, Siinman, JonJon78 and 5 others Thank this. -
But it says 3100 loads to 130 trucks in Illinois. Does that mean nothing?Beaver9, Rideandrepair, Siinman and 2 others Thank this.
-
LOL
I'd say the real number of loads isn't even half that considering how many are still posted that's been moved last week, how many single loads are posted by 10 brokers, how many feelers King of Freight posts on a fishing expedition, and on and on and on... LOL
Not to mention the 500 partial loads/pieces listed paying $200... LMFAORideandrepair, 77fib77, Siinman and 4 others Thank this. -
This is why I’ll never subscribe to a “upgrade” load board subscription.Beaver9 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

The load board industry is so ripe for disruption. In this day and age there's no reason that same service can't be developed and offered for free (Truck Smarter has done it). I'd think it would be some ad supported service for the free membership than paying tiers.
I'm a DAT user and for $85 I'm just paying to view other people's information, my subscription does not offer me protection against fraud, non-paying brokers/customers or fake loads. I guess here recently my subscription has gone for them to develop a trash app that I avoid like the plague.
I find it frustrating that I can easily spot the fake brokers (all CAPS on their information, new authority, multiple bad reviews and a gmail account) while DAT sit's idle and only cares about the number of subscribers they have. They need to be accountable as they are the facilitator in the fraud that occurs.Beaver9, Rideandrepair, TheLoadOut and 7 others Thank this.
