Times were rough, that’s for sure. I know a lot of the steel mills that we haul for were down from running 3 shifts 24/7 to running one shift. I had retired from the Corps and did a couple of years as a contractor in Iraq, paid everything off, paid cash for a truck and trailer, had about 50k in the bank, by the time things started getting better I was down to about 15k in the bank and was contemplating going to Afghanistan. Seemed #### near impossible to find a load paying $2 a mile. But it slowly came back, gotta learn to bale hay when the sun is shining and save for a rainy day.Vampire, PPLC, Short Fuse EOD and 5 others Thank this.

Getting crushed trying to get out of Cali with a flatbed. Just had a broker try and lower a rate that was posted and we agreed on. It was already a low pay, heavy, with 8' tarps.
