That just sucks. I love how the government and trucking companies complain about " driver health and fitness". However, you have all these fast food joints popping up at every fuel stop uou can throw a stone at. Just another example on how trucking has gone to hell.
There are many days I miss it. I cant see with all the changes that have gone down to ever make me want to get on the road again.bthomann, D.Tibbitt, navypoppop and 2 others Thank this. -
Next door to the Love’s in Millersburg, OR is a nice food truck/cart lot. Indian, Thai, BBQ, Mexican, etc. Nice coffee booth too.
D.Tibbitt and northstarfire0693 Thank this. -
It is quite frustrating finding good food. There are way too many fast food joints. That is because THOSE are popular. If you go to ANY small town, they all now have fast food joints. It is because fast food joints advertise and small outlets do not have the budget. They all have to compete and even though most of us would pay a few dollars more for decent food, the fast food is bought by more people, so those restaurants make more money, so those are the norm now.

Petro in Albert Lea, Minnesota has a viking inspired restaurant inside that serves outstanding brisket that they prepare on a daily basis. It is unequivocally the best truck stop restaurant I've ever been to and may ever go to.

I used to stop there pre scamdemic. Great buffet and bar. Prices were a bit on the high side, but worth it. Not sure how they are now. It is a great place to stop.Blagoje and HiramKingWilliams Thank this.

Torrington, Wyo: 307 Grill and Bar attached to the truckstop, decent food and prices, lot is usually full of bullracks and grain trucks. Cafe opens about 6 am, bar opens about 4 pm. Pizza Hut across the street, Burger King two blocks down, and accessible to trucks if you're careful, two blocks further is McD's.
Lusk, Wyo. while I've never eaten there, Outpost Cafe, next to the Outpost truckstop is supposed to be tolerable. Further up is 3 Sisters in Manville, not sure when exactly it's open.
Broken Wheel Cafe, inside the Broken Wheel truckstop in Douglass, Wyo must do something right, it's always busy with locals
Russell's in Springer, NM, but as has been pointed out elsewhere, it's now a TA Express, so it's likely to change, but always good decent priced food
Honestly, I wish a few of these places would get rid of Subway and bring in a different sandwhich shop (Jimmy John's, Jersey Mike's, something else)HiramKingWilliams Thanks this. -
Sadly, the Apple Barrel diners inside Sapp Bros are are closing in many areas, I think there's only a couple left (Commerce City and Cheyenne). Commerce City has decent friendly staff (Lori is gruff, but she's been there forever and actually does love her job and the truckers that stop in, but if you mess with her, she will get in your face quick, and pull no punches)
HiramKingWilliams Thanks this. -
I loved the American Pie! #### it, Pilot Flying J! Can't you keep ONE full-service restaurant open!?bzinger Thanks this.
