Screenshots of a video I took yesterday. Of course 20 minutes later it was torrential downpours.

FB_IMG_1686190692671.jpg Shamelessly stolen from MN DOT Sting's FB. I'd say it's obvious a few more of those binders stored in the front should have been on the load.

This has to be a PhotoShop. From reading this forum nobody but mega's ever screws up or doesn't secure properly.

That truck is old and looks very well taken care of and can only assume he’s the type that takes pride in his work. I’d like to think it’s a freak accident but I’d love to know the whole story.

Years ago, like 50. I was driving an old winch truck, pulling an old oilfield float. I was coming into Wy from SLC. I touched the brakes and felt the trailer move a few inches on the fifth wheel as the trailer brakes applied, I got off the brakes and coasted to a stop. Sure enough the trailer was not connected. The 5th wheel would no longer lock! I just took the winch cable and hooked it to the trailer, snugged it up a little and headed to the shop.

It was an old holland 5th wheel that was used every day, It just happened to give up the ghost at that point in time. Before that day I would give a "little tug test" after that day I always gave a "hardy tug test" and got out to visually see the jaws in place.

I'm amazed at the "almost" catastrophic things that happen to a driver during a long career. The trick is to learn and adapt and don't repeat stupid things.

I notice the drag marks on the road. There were also drag marks behind the truck parked over on the shoulder. Something failed.
